“We start with charity, but at some point, charity must be transformed into sustainable, positive behavior.” – Ed Apffel.
TerraMica’s My Healthy Home education and community intervention helps families by:
“ I have changed a lot … we are not living like we lived before. “
To ensure we are meeting our goals of supporting and stabilizing families and helping their communities to thrive, we have created a comprehensive evaluation plan to understand both the needs in the communities where we work and the impact of our interventions.
We take a grassroots approach to collecting data from local communities to enable families‘ voices to be fully heard regarding the changes they feel they need within their community. Through baseline, midline and endline evaluations conducted by our staff (who are members of these communities), we gather data on water and sanitation, infrastructure and social issues in accordance with humanitarian standards. This data is evaluated by our team in order to make informed decisions that best serve the needs of each region.
